HOSTING ELIGIBILITY
To host a NEXT Sukkot Meal, you must be a Taglit-Birthright Israel alumnus or former bus-staff (madrich or madricha) and a legal resident of the United States or Canada. Current employees of Taglit-Birthright Israel, Birthright Israel Foundation, and Birthright Israel North America are also eligible to host NEXT Sukkot Meals. Current employees of NEXT, as well as their immediate family members are not eligible to host NEXT Sukkot Meals.

MEAL REGISTRATION & PAYMENT PROCESS
You must register your meal no later than Friday October 5, 2012 at 11: 59 pm EST. However, be sure to register as soon as possible because registration will close once the NEXT Sukkot Meal Program has 300 total registrations from both the NEXT Sukkot Meal Program and the NEXT Sukkot Building Grant Program. You may only register for and host one (1) NEXT Sukkot Meal or register for one (1) NEXT Sukkot Building Grant.

If you register for a NEXT Sukkot Meal, your meal must take place sometime between sundown on Sunday, September 30, 2012 through sundown on Tuesday, October 9th, 2012. Please be advised, if you register to host a NEXT Sukkot Meal, you will NOT be eligible to host a NEXT Shabbat Meal the weekend of October 5, 2012 nor will you be eligible to receive a NEXT Sukkot Building Grant. If you registered for a NEXT Shabbat meal or a NEXT Sukkot Building Grant prior to registering for a NEXT Sukkot Meal, you must choose which one of the programs you would like to participate in.

NEXT will pay twelve dollars ($12) per person for at least five (5) people (over the age of 18) who attend your NEXT Sukkot Meal and up to a maximum of sixteen (16) people in attendance at your meal, including the host. You may have more than sixteen (16) people in attendance at your NEXT Sukkot Meal, but NEXT’s maximum payment will be capped at sixteen (16) people. NEXT Sukkot is about creating communities of young adults and therefore the majority of your guests must be made up of peers. Family members may attend but can may only comprise up to twenty five percent (25%) of your guests.

Steps to register and receive a NEXT Sukkot Building Grant:

  1. Register  here for your grant.
  2. After you register you will be able to access your personal Host Center on our website.
  3. An optional invitation tool is provided upon completing your registration which will help you to invite your guests.
  4. You may reschedule or cancel your meal date at anytime before Friday, October 5th, 2012, 11:59 pm EST, by logging into the Host Center. Be sure to reschedule a meal at least a day before hosting it on a date for which you have not registered. In the event that you hold a meal on a date which is not the date for which you registered your meal, you will be ineligible to receive payment.
  5. If you decide to change your NEXT Sukkot Meal to a NEXT Sukkot Building Grant, you must also change the date and grant type by Friday October 5, 2012, 11:59 pm EST. Change requests submitted after this date/time will not be processed. In the event that you change your NEXT Sukkot Meal into a NEXT Sukkot Building Grant, you will become subject to all the rules associated with the NEXT Sukkot Building Grant Program, as noted below.

Steps required to receive payment:

  1. Be sure you print out your NEXT Sukkot Meal sign with your unique NEXT Sukkot Meal number before your meal. This can be found in your confirmation e-mail and in your Host Center Profile. Each meal is assigned a unique NEXT Sukkot Meal number, so be sure to use the specific number provided for your meal. If you cannot print out your NEXT Sukkot Meal sign before your meal, signs displayed via Laptop Screens, I-Pads, or Tablets with the sign clearly loaded across the entire screen and with the number clearly visible, are also allowed.
  2. Take one picture that includes ALL of your guests (one excluded as photographer, but included for purposes of calculating the number of attending guests), your meal, and the NEXT Sukkot Meal sign which was made available to you. Be sure to include all guests in the photo, as you will only receive payment for these guests (plus the photographer). Your NEXT Sukkot Meal sign and sign number must be visible and clear in the photo. Please also remember to collect and save your guests’ contact information (first name, last name, e-mail address or phone number) as this information will be requested during the submission of materials stage at the conclusion of your meal.
    1. If it is your practice to not take pictures on the first and last two nights of Sukkot and you plan to host your meal on one of those days, you must, instead, take a photo of your Sukkot preparations (e.g. ample food preparations), your set table with place settings and your NEXT Sukkot Meal sign. Place settings and preparations must correspond with the number of people you are claiming payment for or else your meal will be deemed ineligible. You must also provide us with the names and email addresses or phone numbers of each guest for whom you wish to receive payment, as all hosts are required to do. There will be a designated space in the payment process for you to include this information—make sure to have the names and emails/phone numbers ready when requesting payment!
      1. NOTE: Photos of meal preparations shall only be accepted as substitutes for photos of guests on the first and last two nights of Sukkot.
    2. Photos submitted without NEXT Sukkot Meal signs, with user-created NEXT Sukkot Meal signs, with NEXT Sukkot Meal numbers not clearly visible, or with NEXT Sukkot Meal signs which have been digitally altered or added to the photo, will result in your ineligibility for payment.
    3. Photos submitted that DO NOT include either all guests at your meal OR the number of guests that you wish to claim payment for (e.g. table settings for all guests, ample food preparations) will result in your ineligibility for payment.
  3. Please remember to save all of your receipts, as NEXT reserves the right to review your receipts, at its sole discretion, in order to verify aspects of your meal.
  4. Following your meal, you will receive an email prompting you to visit your Host Center. You may log in to your Host Center prior to receiving this email if you are ready to submit your materials.
  5. At your Host Center, you will begin the payment process which will include submitting your guest contact information (first name, last name, e-mail address and/or phone number), a Feedback Form, and uploading your photo(s). Guest contact information, Feedback Forms, and photos must be submitted in order to be eligible for payment.
  6. You must complete and submit your Feedback Form and photo(s) within two (2) weeks of your NEXT Sukkot meal.

You can expect to receive a check via mail within six (6) weeks of submitting your Feedback Form and photo(s). Please allow for slight variations in this time frame in order to accommodate for delays which may be caused by a high volume of meals. In the event that you have any concerns about your payment, please contact us at holidays@birthrightisraelnext.org.

As such, in addition to celebrating Sukkot with them, we ask that you include your peers in the Sukkot construction process and in the celebrations you have in your completed Sukkah. By signing up for this opportunity, you are accepting our support in the form of funding to help you build a Sukkah and you should utilize this grant funding for its intended purpose.
